The Acquired Brain Injury Education Service (ABIES) offers a wealth of experience of the nature of Acquired Brain Injury and provides a practical approach to meeting students' ever changing educational needs.  It looks at the brain from an educational perspective rather than a medical perspective.  The brain is after all the human "learning machine".

The ABIES is based in a purpose built Centre at South Worcestershire College, Evesham Campus.  Funding for the building was provided by the National Lottery Charities Board (now the Community Fund) as the result of a successful bid made by the Acquired Aphasia Trust.

The Centre provides:

  • A base for specialist education and health professionals   working with people with an acquired brain injury
  • Several rooms for classrooms or meetings
  • A fully equipped computer room
  • A kitchen
  • Specialised resources
  • A conference/training room
  • Offices

Students are encouraged to take accredited courses ie qualifications attached to their course, these will be discussed with the tutor in charge of the course.

Students will not be able to attend the ABI Centre for an unlimited time.
